How to Order

Labcorp’s plasma-based liquid biopsy tests for solid tumors include: 

Labcorp Plasma Focus

Labcorp Plasma Focus is an actionable liquid biopsy test (33 genes) for the selection of targeted treatment options that focuses on biomarkers associated with FDA-approved therapies for patients with advanced solid cancers (Non-small cell lung, colorectal, breast, esophageal, gastric, gastroesophageal junction carcinomas, and cutaneous melanoma)

  • Number of genes: 33 clinically actionable or relevant genes 
  • Turnaround time: 7-10 days (from when the specimen was received in our lab)

Labcorp Plasma Complete

Labcorp Plasma Complete is a comprehensive liquid biopsy test (521 genes) for the selection of targeted treatment options that focuses on biomarkers associated with FDA-approved therapies as well as emerging biomarkers for patients with advanced solid cancers (pan-solid tumors)

  • Number of genes: 521 genes
  • Turnaround time: 7-12 days (from when the specimen was received in our lab)

Ordering details: 

Labcorp Plasma Focus or Labcorp Plasma Complete can be ordered using the test requisition form, through the electronic health record interface, or via Labcorp Link™.

  • No account?  No problem.  Submit the test requisition form leaving the “client#” field blank if you do not have one.  Your order will be processed, and our client services team will contact you for a quick and easy account setup
  • Your Labcorp Oncology sales representative will partner with you to implement the method that works best for you and your clinical workflow.
  • Please ensure all other required fields are filled out.  A copy of the clinical documentation to support medical necessity for testing is required

Specimen requirements and shipping instructions:

  • Collect a total of 20 mL of whole blood into the 2 Streck BCT® tubes supplied in the Labcorp Oncology Liquid Biopsy Kit
  • Only the Labcorp Oncology Liquid Biopsy Kit can be used for collection and shipping
  • Sample shipment to the testing laboratory must occur within 24 hours of the blood draw

Causes for rejection:

  • Samples not collected and submitted in Streck tubes
  • Specimens submitted in expired or incorrect blood tubes
  • Quantity not sufficient for analysis
  • Received more than five days from the collection date
  • Frozen specimens
  • Samples taken from early stage cancers (stage I/II)

Storage instructions:

  • Store at room temperature. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Keep out of direct sunlight
    Results report
  • The patient’s clinical report will be available through Labcorp LINK® portal or electronic health record interface
