Slides; formalin-fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissue block

Volume

3-4 unstained slides cut to 4-5 microns thick, air-dried overnight; 0.2 cm x 0.2 cm x 0.2 cm tissue.

Storage Instructions

Store slides and tissues at room temperature.

Causes for Rejection

Broken or dirty slides; excessive cellular debris or stained slides; frozen specimen; decalcified specimens.

Collection

Tissue should be fixed in 10.0% neutral buffered formalin. The optimal fixation time for tissue is 6-48 hours. Do not decalcify. Store tissue specimens at room temperature (20-23.5° C). Use cold pack for transport. Be sure cold pack is not in direct contact with specimen during transport.
