Stephanie J. McAlhany, MD, PhD

Anatomic Pathology and Hematology

Dr. McAlhany is board certified in anatomic pathology and hematology. She earned her medical degree and PhD in molecular and cell biology from Baylor College of Medicine. She completed her residency in anatomic pathology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where she then completed fellowships in surgical pathology, hematopathology, and cytopathology. Dr. McAlhany is a member of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathologists, the College of American Pathologists, the American Society for Clinical Pathology, International Clinical Cytometry Society and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Guangyu Gu, MD

Director, Cytogenetics Oncology

Dr. Gu is board certified in clinical cytogenetics.  He earned his medical degree and completed a residency in anatomic pathology from the Fourth Military Medical University (Medicine), China.  Dr. Gu completed a fellowship (Research) in urological surgery at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN and in clinical cytogenetics at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City.  In addition to authoring a number of peer-reviewed journal articles and abstracts, Dr. Gu has given poster and oral presentations at multiple national meetings as well as co-authoring several textbook chapters.  He is a member of the College of American Pathologists and American Association for Clinical Chemistry, and a Fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics.

Huifei Liu, MD, PhD

Anatomic Pathology,  Clinical Pathology and Hematology

Dr. Liu is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and hematology (hematopathology). She earned her medical degree from Peking University Health Science Center in Beijing, China. She obtained a PhD degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed her AP/CP pathology residency in Northwell Health Staten Island University Hospital and Houston Methodist Hospital. She did a hematopathology fellowship at The University of Texas at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Liu is a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathology, the College of American Pathologists, the Society for Hematopathology, the International Clinical Cytometry Society, and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.

Ron Lee, MD

Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, and Hematology

Dr. Lee is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and hematology (pathology). He earned his medical degree from the University of Florida. After serving in the Air Force as a flight surgeon, Dr. Lee completed residency in anatomic and clinical pathology and a fellowship in hematopathology at the University of Florida. 

Suzanne Martin, MD

Dr. Martin is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. She earned her medical degree from University of South Alabama College of Medicine where she also completed her residency in anatomic and clinical pathology. She then completed a Selective Surgical Pathology Fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Martin is a member of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathologists, the College of American Pathologists, the American Society for Clinical Pathology, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Kelley J. Mast, MD

Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology and Hematology

Dr. Mast is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and hematology. She earned her medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Medical University College of Medicine. She completed her residency in anatomic and clinical pathology and a surgical pathology fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and her hematopathology fellowship at Indiana University Health. Dr. Mast is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology and the College of American Pathologists.

Leticia Miravalle, PhD

Director, Cytogenetics and Molecular Oncology

Dr. Miravalle is board certified in Clinical Cytogenetics and in Clinical Molecular Genetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG), and in Molecular Diagnostics by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry (ABCC).  She earned her PhD degree in Biochemistry from the National University of La Plata-Buenos Aires, Argentina. Prior to completing her clinical fellowship in Clinical Cytogenetics and Clinical Molecular Genetics at Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, under the direction of Dr. Gail Vance, she trained in the laboratory of Dr. Bernardino Ghetti at the Indiana Alzheimer Disease Center, Indianapolis, studying the genetics of neurodegenerative disorders.  She is a fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics and a member of the Association for Molecular Pathology. 

Debra M. Mitchell Nelson, MD

Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, and Hematology

Dr. Nelson is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and hematology. She earned her medical degree from the University of the West Indies Faculty of Medicine. She completed her residency in pathology and a hematopathology fellowship at the University of Florida. Dr. Nelson is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology and the College of American Pathologists.

Christian Morosan, MD

Dr. Morosan is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and hematology. He earned his medical degree from the “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania, and received post-medical school training in family medicine at County Hospital Suceava, Romania. He completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Tufts New England Medical Center and a hematopathology fellowship at Shands Medical Center-University of Florida. Dr. Morosan is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology, the College of American Pathologists, the International Academy of Pathology, the Society of Hematopathologists, and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.

Krishna Oza, MD

Dr. Oza is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, hematology, and blood banking/transfusion medicine. He earned his medical degree from Devi Ahilya Vishwa Vidyalaya/M.G.M. Medical College, Indore (M.P.), India. He was a hematology resident at Service Central d’ Hématologie-Immunologie-Hôpital Henri Mondor, Créteil, France, and completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Beth Israel Medical Center. Dr. Oza completed a fellowship in hematopathology, blood banking, and transfusion medicine at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. He is a fellow of the American Society for Clinical Pathologists and the College of American Pathologists, as well as a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathologists, and the American Society of Hematology.

Joseph S. Papiez, MD

Dr. Papiez is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and hematology. He earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in pathology and a fellowship in hematopathology, directed by Dr Raul Braylan, at the University of Florida. Ronald W. Thomason, MD

Dr. Thomason is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and hematopathology. He earned his medical degree with highest honors from the University of Tennessee School of Medicine. He completed residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas and completed a hematopathology fellowship directed by Dr. Peter Banks at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.  Dr. Thomason is a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathology, the American Society of Hematology, and the International Society for Analytic Cytometry.

Patricia Uherova, MD

Dr. Uherova is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and hematology. She earned her medical degree from the Charles University School of Medicine in Prague, Czechoslovakia. She completed her residency in pathology at the University of Michigan and hematopathology fellowships at the University of Michigan and Vanderbilt University. Dr. Uherova is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.

Xiao Xiang Zhang, MD, PhD

Technical Director, Cytogenetics and Molecular Oncology

Dr. Zhang is board certified in clinical cytogenetics (ABMGG) and Molecular Diagnostics (ABB).  She earned a PhD in pathology/cytogenetics from McGill University, Canada and a medical degree from Hunan Medical University, China. She completed a fellowship in clinical cytogenetics and molecular genetics at Duke University Medical Center, North Carolina.  Dr. Zhang has co-authored more than 30 articles and abstracts that have appeared in peer-reviewed publications and presented at national meetings.  She holds memberships with the American Board of Medical Genetics and Association for Molecular Pathology, is an inspector and team leader for the College of American Pathologists, and is an invited idem writer for genetics specialty examination, American Board of Medical Genetics and American Board of Bioanalysis.

Sassan Rostami, MD

Medical Director

Dr. Rostami is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and hematopathology. He earned his medical degree from the Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Iran. He completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Pittsburgh and the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California. He completed a fellowship in hematopathology at the University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center under lymphoma expert Dr. Jonathan Said. Dr. Rostami is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology and has a special interest in myelodysplastic syndromes.

Beth Braunhut, MD

Co-Director, Surgical Pathology

Dr. Braunhut is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology.  She earned her medical degree and completed her residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Tucson, Arizona.  She completed fellowships in renal pathology (University of Chicago) and genitourinary pathology (University of Miami). Dr. Braunhut has co-authored more than 16 articles and abstracts that have appeared in peer-reviewed publications.  Dr. Braunhut is a member of multiple professional societies including the Arizona Society of Pathologists, the College of American Pathologists, the Genitourinary Pathology Society, the International Society for Urological Pathology, the Renal Pathology Society, and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.

Perry Chan, PhD, JD

Director, Molecular

Dr. Chan is board certified in clinical molecular genetics and molecular diagnostics.  He is also ASCP-certified in microbiology, molecular pathology and laboratory management. Furthermore, he is an ASQ-certified quality auditor and quality manager. He continues to hold an active California law license and an USPTO patent attorney license. He received a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Hong Kong, a juris doctor degree from Concord Law School, and an MBA degree majoring in quality management from Loyola University at New Orleans.  He completed a clinical molecular genetics fellowship at Columbia University, New York and a post-doctoral fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.  In addition to authoring a number of book chapters, Dr. Chan has authored more than 20 articles and abstracts for peer-reviewed journals.  Dr. Chan was a past director for American Board of Clinical Chemistry and a past CLSI committee member to revise NGS guidelines. Currently, he is selected to serve in the Social, Ethical and Legal Issues Committee of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics
 

Radwa A. ElBehery, MD

Co-Director, Hematopathology

Dr. Radwa ElBehery is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology and hematopathology.  She earned her medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, where she also completed her internship, residency in clinical pathology, and received her master’s degree. She completed her fellowship in clinical pathology at Universite De Bretagne Occidental, Brest, France.  Dr. ElBehery completed her residency program training in anatomic pathology/clinical pathology, and hematopathology fellowship training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She is a member of the American  society for clinical pathology (ASCP).

Froilan P. Espinoza, MD

Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, and Immunopathology

Dr. Espinoza is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and immunopathology. He earned his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. Dr. Espinoza completed his residency in pathology through a combined program at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center, Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in surgical pathology at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center. Dr Espinoza is a member of the College of American Pathologists and held a faculty appointment as assistant clinical professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine (1991-2006).

Dongli Huang, PhD

Director, Cytogenetics and Molecular Oncology

Dr. Huang is board certified in Clinical Cytogenetics and Clinical Molecular Genetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG). She earned her PhD degree in Biology from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland, completed her post-doctoral training in Human Genetics at Howard Hughes Medical Institute/Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and fellowship training in Clinical Cytogenetics and Clinical Molecular Genetics at Columbia University Medical Center, New York.  She is a fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics and a member of the American Society of Human Genetics.

Anita Kulharya, PhD

Cytogenetics Oncology

Dr. Kulharya is board certified in clinical cytogenetics.  She earned a PhD in Biology with emphasis on clinical cytogenetics from University of North Texas and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and Texas Department of Mental health and Mental Retardation.  Dr. Kulharya is a founding fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics and holds membership to the American Society of Human Genetics.  Dr. Kulharya has co-authored over 65 abstracts and peer reviewed publications.  She has nearly 30 years of experience as a cytogenetics laboratory director.

 

Mary Levy, DO

Surgical Pathology

Dr. Levy is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology.  She earned her doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine.  She completed her residencies in anatomic and clinical pathology at New York University School of Medicine and St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in gastrointestinal and liver pathology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.  Dr. Levy holds memberships with Roger C. Haggitt Gastrointestinal Pathology Society, Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association, United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, College of American Pathologists, and American Society for Clinical Pathology.  She has co-authored a number of abstracts and articles that have appeared in peer-reviewed journals. 

Lee J. McGhan, MD

Dr. McGhan is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and hematopathology.  He received his medical degree from the University of Wales, College of Medicine, UK.  He completed an internship in general surgery at Mayo Clinic, Phoenix, AZ, a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, Phoenix, AZ, and a fellowship in hematopathology at Banner - University Medical Center, Tuscon, AZ.  In addition to authoring a number of peer-reviewed journal articles and abstracts, Dr. McGhan has given poster and oral presentations at multiple national meetings as well as co-authoring a textbook chapter.  He is also a Fellow of the College of American Pathologists.

Arthur Somoza, MD

Dr. Somoza is board certified in anatomic pathology and clinical pathology.  He earned his medical degree from the University of Sint Eustatius School of Medicine, Cole Bay, Sint Maarten and completed his residency in anatomic pathology and laboratory medicine at the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH.  Dr. Somoza completed a fellowship in surgical pathology at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM and a fellowship in molecular pathology at the University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ.  He is a member of the College of American Pathologists, the American Society for Clinical Pathology, the American Medical Association, and the United States & Canadian Academy of Pathology.

Hongcheng Wang, PhD

Director, Cytogenetics and Molecular Oncology

Dr. Wang is board-certified in clinical molecular genetics and genomics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG), and ABMGG board-eligible in clinical cytogenetics and genomics. He earned his PhD degree in Immunology from Peking University Health Science Center, Beijing, China. Prior to completing his clinical laboratory fellowship in Clinical Molecular Genetics and Clinical Cytogenetics at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Dr. Wang was trained at Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation with focus on cancer and immunology. He has co-authored more than twenty articles including several high-impact publications. Dr. Wang is a fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics and a member of the Association for Molecular Pathology. 

Michael Wang, MD, PhD

Director, Hematopathology

Dr. Wang is board-certified in clinical pathology, hematology and molecular genetic pathology. He earned his medical degree from Lanzhou Medical College, Lanzhou University, China and a PhD degree in biochemistry from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.  Dr. Wang completed a fellowship in hematopathology at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine.  He also completed fellowships in molecular genetic pathology and clinical pathology at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center and Washington University School of Medicine, respectively. Dr. Wang holds memberships with United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP), Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP), College of American Pathologists (CAP), American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI), and American Association for Cancer Research (AACR).

Anjen Chenn, MD, PhD

Dr. Chenn is board certified in clinical pathology and molecular genetic pathology. He earned his undergraduate degree in biochemical sciences at Harvard University and his MD and PhD in neurosciences from Stanford University. He completed his residency in clinical pathology at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, and post-doctoral training in the lab of Dr. Christopher Walsh at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, and was an instructor at Harvard Medical School. Dr Chenn was a faculty member at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and served as the director of molecular diagnostics at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Most recently, Dr. Chenn was a tenured associate professor of pathology at the University of Illinois, Chicago, where his research lab focused on understanding developmental brain disorders and brain cancer. Dr. Chenn's laboratory received funding from NIH (NINDS, NCI), Sontag Foundation for Brain Tumor Research, Searle Scholars Program, March of Dimes, Simons Foundation for Autism Research Initiative, and the V Foundation.

Neeta N. Agrawal, MD

Hematopathology

Dr. Agrawal is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and hematopathology.  She earned her medical degree from B.J. Medical College in Pune, India, where she also completed a residency in pathology.  Dr Agrawal completed her residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, where she also completed a hematopathology fellowship.  Dr Agrawal served as a pathologist at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, North Carolina and Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield.  She is currently working as a hematopathologist at CMBP, RTP NC.

Li Cai, PhD

Clinical Laboratory Director, Molecular Oncology

Dr. Cai is board certified in clinical molecular genetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics, and holds certification in molecular genetic testing and oncology (molecular and cellular tumor markers) from the New York State Department of Health.  She earned a PhD in Genetics, Texas A&M University, Texas and completed her fellowship in clinical molecular genetics at Harvard University, Boston, MA.  Dr. Cai has co-authored more than 35 articles and abstracts that have appeared in peer-reviewed publications and holds patent for her gene discovery research. She has more than 25 years experience in genetics research and development.

Shannon Covey, MD

Hematopathology

Dr. Shannon Covey is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology and hematopathology.  She earned her medical degree from Texas A&M School of Medicine.  She completed her anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the University of North Carolina Hospitals and a hematopathology fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical College / New York Presbyterian Hospital.  Dr. Covey’s experience includes serving as pathologist in a private practice in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Covey is a member of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology and the College of American Pathologists.

Jennifer A. Egan, MD

Hematopathology

Dr. Egan is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, cytopathology, and hematopathology.  She received her medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York.  She completed her anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where she also completed fellowships in both cytopathology and hematopathology.  Dr Egan’s experience includes serving as staff pathologist at Cone Health Alamance Regional Medical Center, and as a medical laboratory director for Cornerstone Healthcare in High Point, North Carolina.  Dr. Egan also has a background in Clinical Research, including work on studies for Merck, Berlex, Biogen, Pfizer, and GlaxoSmithKline.   

Inder Gadi, PhD

Director, Cytogenetics

Dr. Gadi is board certified in clinical cytogenetics.  He earned a PhD in zoology and cytogenetics from Banaras H. University, Varanasi, India.  He completed a postdoctoral fellowships at the Zoological Society of San Diego, University of California, San Diego and at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, Harvard Medical School, Boston.  Dr. Gadi is a member of the American Society of Human Genetics and has co-authored over 100 abstracts and articles for peer-reviewed publications.

Stuart Schwartz, PhD

Discipline Director, Cytogenetics

Dr. Schwartz is board certified in medical genetics, clinical cytogenetics, and clinical molecular genetics. He earned a PhD in medical genetics from Indiana University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. His major areas of interest include molecular cytogenetics, the delineation and characterization of neocentromeres, phenotype/karyotype correlation in the 9p deletion syndrome, the etiology of structural chromosome abnormalities, the characterization of de novo and complex reciprocal translocations, and high-resolution chromosome methodology. In addition to authoring a number of book chapters, Dr. Schwartz has authored more than 160 articles for peer-reviewed journals.

James H. Tepperberg, PhD

Director, Cytogenetics and Discipline Director, FISH

Dr. Tepperberg holds board certification in cytogenetics from the American Board of Medical Genetics and in cytogenetics and oncology molecular detection from the New York State Department of Health. He earned a PhD in genetics and developmental biology from West Virginia University with thesis research at Duke University. He received his postdoctoral training in cytogenetics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  He has authored a number or articles and abstracts that have appeared in peer-reviewed publications

Responsibilities at LabCorp include discipline director FISH,  chromosome/ FISH diagnosis and interpretation of prenatal, postnatal, and oncology samples; development and expansion of FISH and single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) microarray techniques and analysis; and literature review for related cytogenetic cases and responsibilities.

Rui Zheng, MD, PhD

Director, Hematopathology

Dr. Zheng is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology with subspecialty board certification in hematology. She received a MD degree and subsequently a PhD degree from Beijing Medical University (currently Peking University Health Science Center) in Beijing, China. Dr. Zheng completed her residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology, followed by hematopathology fellowship training, at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She has been practicing hematopathology since 2012. Before joining Labcorp, Dr. Zheng was medical director and chair of Pathology Department at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center, HCA, Denver, CO. Dr. Zheng has authored papers published in journals of Blood, Oncogene, Journal of Experimental Medicine, Leukemia, Journal of Applied Research, Leukemia research, Leukemia and Lymphoma, International Journal of Surgical Pathology and Frontiers in Pediatrics.

Jonathan L. Klein, MD

Dr. Klein is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, hematopathology and molecular genetic pathology.  He earned his medical degree from Sackler School of Medicine, New York State program, Tel Aviv, Israel. He completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Winthrop University Hospital, Mineola NY, where he served as chief resident and performed his fellowship training in Hematopathology and Molecular Genetic Pathology at Washington University – Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis MO.  Dr. Klein previously served as laboratory director and chief medical officer of Molecular Pathology Laboratory Network in Maryville, TN.  His special interests include neoplastic hematopathology, molecular diagnostics and FISH in oncology, and clinical trial laboratory testing. He is a member of American Society for Clinical Pathology and Association for Molecular Pathology.

Henry Y. Dong, MD, PhD

Dr. Dong is board certified in anatomic pathology and hematopathology. He earned his medical degree from Beijing Medical University and his PhD in molecular cell biology from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Dr Dong completed his pathology residency at Massachusetts General Hospital followed by a Vickery fellowship in surgical pathology and a James Homer fellowship in hematopathology.

Dr. Dong is the director of hematopathology and molecular pathology for Integrated Oncology in New York. He has been with Integrated Oncology since 2004. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles in major pathology/ scientific journals and has had over 50 abstracts/presentations in major national and international meetings.

Vatsala Bhardwaj, MD, PhD

Anatomic Pathology and Hematopathology

Dr. Bhardwaj is board certified in anatomic pathology and hematopathology. She earned her medical degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and received her PhD in immunology from the National Institute for Medical Research in the United Kingdom. She completed her residency in anatomic pathology at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis and a fellowship in hematopathology at Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Bhardwaj is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology, the American Society of Hematology, and the Society for Hematopathology.

Pauline Brenholz, MD

Director, Cytogenetics Oncology

Dr. Brenholz is board certified in pediatrics, clinical genetics and cytogenetics.  She earned her medical degree, completed her pediatric internship and residency as well as post-doctoral fellowship in medical genetics all at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY.  She is a founding fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics. She has more than 30 years experience in cytogenetic oncology. Dr. Brenholz has co-authored more than 30 articles and abstracts that have appeared in peer-reviewed publications.  

Michael Broscius, MD

Anatomic and Clinical Pathology

Dr. Broscius is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. He earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Hahnemann Hospital in Pennsylvania. He completed a fellowship in oncologic surgical pathology under the direction of Dr. Juan Rosai at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Prior to joining Integrated Oncology, Dr. Broscius served as Medical Director and Director of Immunohistochemistry of a large private laboratory.  Dr. Broscius is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology and the College of American Pathologists. His special interests include soft tissue pathology, breast pathology, neoplastic dermatopathology, prostatic pathology, pulmonary pathology, gastrointestinal pathology and germ cell neoplasms.

Peijie Cong, MD, PhD

Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, and Hematology

Dr. Cong is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and hematopathology. He earned his medical degree from the Fourth Military Medical University in Xi’an, China, and his PhD in molecular biology from the Cornell University Graduate School of Medical Sciences. Dr. Cong completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Chicago Hospitals and completed a fellowship in hematopathology at the National Institutes of Health with Dr Elaine Jaffe.

Weiwen Deng, PhD, FACMG

Director, Clinical Cytogenetics

Dr. Deng is certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG) in Clinical Cytogenetics (FACMG), the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) in Cytogenetics (CG) and Molecular Biology (MB), and the American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB) as a high-complexity clinical laboratory director in hematology (HCLD). He earned his MD and MS (Microbiology & Immunology) degrees from Shanghai Medical University in China, and PhD degree (molecular & cellular biology) from Tulane University in New Orleans. Dr. Deng published over 20 research papers and book chapters in virology, cancer immunotherapy, stem cell therapy, hematology/oncology, and clinical cytogenetics fields and was awarded 1 U.S. patent. Dr. Deng received his clinical cytogenetics fellowship training in Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center/Signature Genomics in Spokane, Washington. Prior to joining Dianon Pathology, Dr. Deng worked for Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center in California.

Jiachun Kung, MD, PhD

Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, and Hematology

Dr. Kung is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and hematopathology. She earned her medical degree from the Shanghai Second Medical University in China and her PhD in biochemistry from the University of Vermont. She completed her residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, and Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. Dr. Kung was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at Washington University, St. Louis, and completed a hematopathology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Kung has authored more than a dozen publications in peer-reviewed medical journals and was a contributing author to the book entitled Manual of Molecular and Clinical Laboratory Immunology, 7th edition.

Maomi Li, MD, PhD

Anatomic Pathology

Dr. Li is board certified in anatomic pathology. He earned his medical degree from Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences in Guangzhou, China, and his PhD in biological chemistry from the University of Michigan. He completed his residency in anatomic pathology at Yale-New Haven Hospital and fellowships in oncologic pathology and experimental pathology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where he worked with Dr. Juan Rosai. Dr. Li currently holds an academic appointment at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine as a clinical associate professor of pathology. He specializes in surgical pathology of tumors of the kidney, testis, prostate, bladder, colon, breast, pancreas, and endocrine organs such as thyroid and adrenal glands. Dr. Li has authored more than 40 publications in peer-reviewed medical journals.

Jeffrey A. Schrager, MD

Director, Hematopathology

Dr. Schrager is board certified in anatomic pathology and hematopathology. He earned his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire, and pursued HIV basic research as a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institutes of Health. He completed his residency in anatomic pathology, followed by fellowships in hematopathology and flow cytometry, at the National Cancer Institute. In addition to pathology Dr. Schrager also has a passion in wellness.  In 2017 he became board certified by the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine. Dr. Schrager is a coauthor of the chapter entitled Flow Cytometric Analysis in the Diagnosis and Prognosis of Lymphoma and Chronic Leukemias in Flow Cytometry in Clinical Diagnosis, 4th edition and medical editor of Diagnostic Pathology:  Spleen, published in 2014.

Veena Suri, PhD

Director, Cytogenetics

Dr. Suri is board certified in clinical cytogenetics.  She earned a PhD PH.D. from Panjab University, Chandigarh, India in 1975 in the faculty of Science and Mathmatics.  Dr. Suri holds qualification from New York State in Cytogenetics and Oncology (Molecular and Cellular Tumor Markers, limited to FISH)  and is a founding fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics.  She has co-authored more than 25 abstracts and articles published in peer-reviewed publications.  Dr. Suri has over 30 years of employment history within our company as a cytogenetic laboratory director. 

C. Daniel Wu, MD

Anatomic and Clinical Pathology

Dr. Wu is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. He earned his medical degree from the Taipei Medical University School of Medicine in Taiwan. Dr. Wu completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Brown University-Rhode Island Hospital and was a fellow in hematopathology under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey Medeiros at Brown University, followed by lymphoma expert Dr. Dennis Weisenburger at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology, the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, and the Society of Hematopathology. Dr. Wu’s special interest includes lowgrade B-cell lymphoproliferative disorders.

Yusong Yang, MD, PhD

Anatomic Pathology and Hematopathology

Dr Yang is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and hematopathology. He earned his medical degree from Nanjing Medical University in China and his PhD in pharmacology and toxicology from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center, where he served as a chief resident. He was a dermatology resident at the Institute of Dermatology-Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences in Nanjing, China, and completed a hematopathology fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He has published a number of articles several related to endothelial cell response to oxidative stress, serum paraproteins, and PD-1/PD-L1 expression in cutaneous T cell lymphoma.
