Molecular Tumor Board: 64-year-old female with KRAS-mutant lung adenocarcinoma

In our recent Molecular Tumor Board, Labcorp Oncology Medical Affairs team reviewed a complex case of a 64-year-old female with KRAS-mutant lung adenocarcinoma and brain metastases. The team reviewed tissue-based next-generation sequencing and pathology findings, including high PD-L1 expression and confirmation of a moderately to poorly differentiated non-small cell carcinoma consistent with lung adenocarcinoma. They also emphasized the timing and clinical implications of IHC testing for MET protein overexpression, noting that MET gene amplification and protein overexpression are not always concordant, making IHC confirmation essential for guiding treatment decisions.
