Genomic stability of prostate cancers with homologous recombination gene alterations

This study investigates associations between markers of genomic instability and genomic defects in genes associated with homologous recombination (HR) in a cohort of 431 prostate cancer specimens. Prostate cancers with HR-altered status showed higher genomic instability, with increased rates of microsatellite instability (MSI)-high and tumor mutational burden (TMB)-high tumors, particularly among cases with BRCA1/2 alterations. These results may signify selection of HR pathways gene mutations in MSI-H tumors and warrants further investigation.
